Today, we would like to introduce two students who have spent almost their entire secondary school years with us at Stein: Hannes Vierling (Year 12) from Trostberg and Tizian Zureig (Year 13) from Surberg.
Despite being in different year groups, Hannes and Tizian have shared a close friendship for many years. They are a wonderful example of how friendships at Stein grow and endure across class and age boundaries.
Tizian is our technology specialist, who has reliably supported all Steiner events in the areas of sound and visuals for years. For this exceptional commitment, he was awarded the Milestone Award at the 2025 Summer Festival—recognition that honours his long-standing involvement.
Hannes, in turn, is a true connector who quickly brings others together, creates a great atmosphere, and shows impressively—especially on the theatre stage—what talents he has. By the way, his sister successfully completed her Abitur with us back in 2024.
Business studies or languages?
H: »Business studies, because languages aren’t really my thing and I’m more interested in business studies.«
T: »I’m interested in business studies because they show in an exciting way how markets, companies and money flows influence our lives, while also offering practical lessons for real life.«
What is your favourite event in the Steiner calendar?
H: »My favourite event in the Steiner calendar is the Christmas market, which always takes place on the first Advent weekend. Every year it has a wonderful atmosphere, and it’s where the community comes together the most.«
T: »My favourite event is the Winter Ball, which has only (re)existed for a few years. Each evening is more beautiful than the last, because Mr Matyszok designs a new, innovative concept every year.«
Who is your Steiner superhero?
H: »My Steiner superhero is Mr Koch, our PE teacher, who is far more at Stein than just a PE teacher. Especially with Mr Koch, Stein feels like one big family.«
T: »I agree with Hannes ;-)«
