2025 was an exciting and eventful year for Schule Schloss Stein. In a video interview, Headmaster Sebastian Ziegler looks back on key events, developments and the special way the school community works together.
An integral part of the start of the year is the AltsteinSki Cup. This is where the best skiers from the current student body meet Altsteiner skiers from different generations. Sporting ambition, intergenerational exchange and an evening together make this event a special highlight every year.
Further highlights of the school year followed: a magical winter ball, a high-caliber literature and media week and a Open Daywhich delighted many visitors with the “Stein Rocks” castle rally. As there was no graduating class last summer, there was no graduation ceremony. All the more reason to celebrate the summer party with an impressive play as a joint conclusion to the school year.
2025 also brought important personnel changes: With Veronika Koch as the new principal and Moritz Schertler as deputy, the school management was successfully reorganized from within the company. There has also been a generational change in the school secretariat. Ms. Roth is the new friendly face in the school secretariat and Ms. Häupler supports Mr. Ziegler as assistant to the overall management.
The start of school 2025/26 in the fall was marked by many new faces, but also numerous familiar ones. A beautifully organized scavenger hunt in perfect weather ensured a strong sense of community and a successful start to the new school year right at the beginning.
The Altsteiner reunion, which takes place every two years, was also characterized by encounters in 2025. The golf tournament in particular, in which young Steiners played together with young-at-heart Altsteiners, illustrated the close cohesion across age groups.
One particular example of this cooperation was the newly created outdoor fitness parkwhich was realized as part of an upper school project and generously supported by the Altstein Association. Two of the students involved were awarded the White Home Sweater for their exceptional commitment.
Internationality is an integral part of life at Schloss Stein. Pupils from countries including South Korea, Uzbekistan, China and Mexico live and learn together and shape everyday life at the school as an international community.
Pedagogically, the development logbook marks an important step. It enables a structured review of individual goals and even more targeted support for each student. After all, Schloss Stein is not just about achieving a good Abitur, but about being part of a community and developing personally.
The Advent season also offered numerous special moments at the end of the year. The Advent market was once again a complete success and created an atmospheric start to the Christmas season with lovingly decorated stalls and a festive atmosphere. At the St. Nicholas evening St. Nicholas and his Kramperln provided excitement and many smiling faces among the pupils of Stein. The end of the year was marked by the Julkapp, organized by the Q13 – a successful, internal end to the year that united community, humour and anticipation of the Christmas season.
Schloss Stein sees itself as a community in which respect, cohesion and mutual appreciation take center stage. A look ahead shows that this concept is working: demand is high and the school is looking forward to welcoming new pupils in the coming year.
