Sports Competitions with the lsh Ising

June | Andreas Meckl, Physical Education Teacher

After the Ising basketball team visited us a few weeks ago, a delegation from Steiner traveled to Ising this time, where, in addition to a basketball game, a volleyball match was also held. Once again, the matches were closely contested and spirited:

  • Volleyball: The Steiner students impressed with a strong team effort and secured the tournament victory.
  • Basketball: In this game, the Ising hosts capitalized on their home-court advantage. They avenged their loss in the first leg and came away with the victory.

From a sporting perspective, the matches ended in a tie. Far more significant, however, was the spirit of camaraderie that characterized these match days. Despite the intense competitiveness on the field, all the matches were marked by a special warmth. The exchange provided the students from both boarding schools with an excellent platform to make new connections and form friendships across schools.

Both boarding schools—both students and coaches—were thrilled with the matches, and plans are already in place to continue this athletic tradition in the coming school year. Perhaps other sports will be included as well.
