THE STRANGER - A SPECIAL THEATER EVENING IN SALZBURG

May | Klevisa Llaha, 12th grade & Sara Gonzalez Wagner, 11th grade

Going to the theater is a wonderful tradition at our school. Every month, we have the chance to see a play together. Excursions of this kind are always something special and allow us to experience culture directly.

On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, we took the bus to Salzburg at 17:00. Our destination was the Salzburg State Theater to see the play “The Stranger” based on the famous novel by Albert Camus. The performance started at 19:30 in the Kammerspiele.

The story is about Meursault, a man who rarely shows his feelings and perceives the world through a unique perspective. The plot was exciting and thought-provoking. Although the subject matter was serious, the story was presented in a very interesting and impressive way.

The actors’ performances were particularly impressive. The actors and actresses embodied their roles so credibly that they effectively conveyed the mood of the play. The stage design and lighting were also perfectly suited to the story.

The theater evening was a new and exciting experience for many of us. Although the play was demanding, it was also extremely exciting.

All in all, the trip to Salzburg was a great experience. We had a great evening together and were able to experience an important work of world literature. We will definitely remember this visit to the theater for a long time to come.
