At Schloss Stein, activities outside the classroom play an important role. In the special interest groups and other leisure activities, pupils can try their hand at sport, creativity, music, crafts or social activities, discover their own interests and develop their talents – with fun and without pressure to perform. Whether theater, pottery, art, music, sports or social commitment – the variety is huge. Joint projects strengthen team spirit and make community a tangible experience. In this way, we promote self-confidence, responsibility and genuine cooperation – in line with our motto: “Growing together”.
Badminton
Badminton is designed for anyone who enjoys playing fast badminton – whether beginner or advanced. Not only are the basic stroke techniques such as serve, clear and drop practiced here, but tactical finesse for singles and doubles matches is also taught. Through targeted exercises and game situations, participants improve their coordination, reaction times and stamina. The focus is on fair cooperation and enjoying the game.

Basketball
Basketball is aimed at anyone who loves a fast-paced team sport, regardless of their previous ability. The team is constantly growing and is mixed. We train the most important basics of basketball, such as dribbling, shooting and passing techniques, and apply these in exciting games. But above all, we have one thing: lots of fun! Our big goal is to successfully take part in the boarding school Olympics. To achieve this, we train hard and regularly compete against other schools in friendly matches.

Soccer
Soccer is for everyone who enjoys kicking a ball around, whether you are a beginner or an experienced player. It is important to us that everyone can take part and that the fun of the game is paramount. In the training sessions, we will not only improve our technique – i.e. practising dribbling, passing and goal kicks – but also teach basic tactical skills. Golf
Golf is aimed at both beginners and advanced players. The sessions take place on one of the many nearby golf courses, where trained instructors teach students the basics of golf. Participants not only learn the correct stroke technique, but also important rules, etiquette on the course and the theoretical aspects of the game.

Karate
Karate offers the opportunity to get to know yourself and your body better. The precession of technique is practiced according to Japanese custom. The training includes kata (traditional forms) and kumite (free fighting). Karate is a high-speed sport.

Table tennis is aimed at anyone who loves the fast backhand sport with the small white ball – regardless of whether you are just starting out or already have experience. We practise the most important basic strokes together, such as forehand and backhand, and learn various serving techniques. In addition to improving technique, the focus is primarily on speed, reaction and tactical thinking.

Spinning
Spinning involves cycling to music at different speeds on a stationary bike with a flywheel. The resistance can be set individually, allowing the training to be optimally adapted to the athlete’s performance level. Spinning offers optimal training for the cardiovascular system.

In Ida Fabritius’ course at Stein boarding school, she creates a protected space in which you can calm down, feel your body better and recharge your batteries. With exercises from yoga, mindfulness and movement, you will learn how to find your balance – physically and mentally. Without any pressure to perform, but with clarity, depth and a real feel-good factor.

At the beginning of each school year, the Steiner Theater Ensemble is formed from existing and interested members. The aim is to develop and perform a play at our summer festival. The repertoire is kept open, from Greek tragedy to contemporary crime comedy, everything can be represented. Once a year there is a joint trip to a rehearsal weekend.

Bavarian Red Cross
The Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) is aimed at anyone who is interested in first aid and social commitment. Here you will not only learn how to react correctly in emergency situations, but also how to help other people. We teach basic first aid measures – from wound care and the recovery position to cardiopulmonary resuscitation. You can apply your knowledge in realistic exercise scenarios and gain confidence in dealing with emergencies. We also look at the values of the Red Cross, such as humanity and neutrality.

DLRG
The German Lifesaving Association (DLRG) and the Water Rescue Service are aimed at anyone interested in lifeguarding, first aid and the safe use of water. Here you will learn how to protect yourself and others in and around water and how to act correctly in an emergency.
The group is a great way to combine sports training with the acquisition of responsible and vital skills. If you want, you can even take the first steps towards acquiring a lifeguard badge.

Alpine skiing
Alpine skiing is aimed at anyone who wants to discover the fascination of skiing or improve their technique – whether they are beginners or experienced skiers. The focus is on having fun in the snow, but safety on the slopes is also important to us. The unique location of Schloss Stein allows us lightning-fast access to different ski areas. Ski Alpin is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the mountains, be active and have a good time with other ski fans.

Beach volleyball
Beach volleyball is for everyone who loves playing in the sand – beginners and experienced players alike. Under the sun and barefoot in the sand, we improve our skills together and have a lot of fun in the process. We practise the most important basic techniques, which are different in the sand than in the hall: from the correct reception to the spike to digging and attacking. The group offers a great opportunity to let off steam, train coordination and jumping power and enjoy the fun of the game in a relaxed atmosphere.

We live in an economically globalized but culturally diverse world. We want to use the opportunity in Stein to bring pupils from different cultures together and promote a constructive exchange. The members of the Welcome Committee have the task of showing interested new students, parents and family members around the Stein campus, giving them an insight into the daily routine and life at Stein.
