LIFE IN STEIN:

SKIING

by Markus Koch | Sports teacher

The school Schloss Stein not only imparts knowledge, but also promotes the personal development of pupils through various activities, including skiing. The international diversity of the student body, particularly from countries such as Mexico and China, enables many to discover this sport locally, which would not always be possible in their home countries.

A special winter highlight at the school Schloss Stein is the Steiner Ski Cup, a joint weekend including a race between Altsteiners and current Steiners. Not only do former pupils share their love of skiing, but informal conversations and a unique connection between the generations are also created.

Skiing not only offers physical activitybut also a sense of freedom and self-development in the great outdoors. Overcoming challenges on the slopes boosts self-confidence and promotes important skills such as decision-making and risk assessment.

Skiing also helps to strengthen the bond between pupils and teachers or educators. Shared experiences create natural social interactions that extend beyond the classroom and strengthen social bonds within the school community. Many conversations during the time spent together promote understanding between the generations and create a supportive environment.

The shared experience of sporting challenges on the slopes brings the school community together and contributes to a positive school climate. Skiing at the school Schloss Stein not only promotes the individual development of pupils, but also builds a strong, supportive community beyond the ski season. It is a tradition that combines international diversity, connection to the school, experiencing nature, freedom and self-development.
