On February 15, 2025, it was that time again - the Altstein Ski Cup took place in the Sudelfeld ski area! Numerous pupils from Altstein and current pupils from Steiner - including Markus Kochwho has been part of this event for years and not only skied with us, but also inspired the participants with his experience - made their way to this special weekend.
On Friday, February 14, many traveled to the "Feuriger Tatzelwurm" hotel, idyllically located below the ski resort. Old friendships were refreshed, new contacts made and memories exchanged at the cozy get-together. A perfect start to the sporting weekend!
Fast-paced races and the pure joy of skiing
We were greeted by glorious weather on Saturday morning - the best conditions for an exciting day of competition. One by one, the last racers arrived before heading out onto the perfectly prepared slopes. The big question of the day: Who will win the trophies this year?
From fast runs by the experienced racers to courageous runs by the less experienced participants - there were impressive performances and plenty of team spirit to be seen on the slopes. Even when high fog rolled in later, the snow held up perfectly - ideal conditions for a successful race!
Shared moments and great excitement
After the race, everyone met up for lunch at the Schindlbergeralm - not just the racers, but also all the fans and companions. Over schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn there was of course a lot of speculation: Who was the fastest?
In the evening it became official - the award ceremony took place in the "Feuriger Tatzelwurm". This year's winners were celebrated over a convivial fondue dinner. Both trophies went to the Altsteiner this time - congratulations to the winners! The evening ended comfortably in the "Feuerlounge" - with good conversation, laughter and plans for next year.
A weekend full of connections - GROWING TOGETHER
After a hearty breakfast on Sunday morning, everyone made their way home again - with new memories and strengthened bonds in their luggage.
What makes this weekend so special? It shows once again what makes Schule Schloss Stein special: GROWING TOGETHER. The exchange between the current Steiner pupils and the Altsteiners is priceless. It is moments like these that create friendships and networks that last far beyond the school years.
A big thank you goes to the Altsteiner Verein and the Schloss Stein school for their great support of this event, to Markus Koch for his dedicated accompaniment of the Steiner pupils and of course to Franz Stettner, who puts his heart and soul into the organization every year - from the first plan to the last turn on the piste!
We are already looking forward to the Altstein Ski Cup 2026!
