Stein proudly presents: day students Lisa Linnemann & Philippa Nußbaum!
Two real power girls from the districts of Traunstein and Rosenheim, who enrich our school community in so many different ways with their open manner and commitment. Lisa – Year 8 – and Philippa – Year 7 – have fully embraced our Steiner motto “GROWING TOGETHER”:

Lisa has been with us since Year 5, together with her twin sister Laura. Whether in sport, daily duties or simply in everyday life together: Lisa always puts her whole heart into it.

With her sunny nature, Philippa not only lifts everyone’s spirits, but also strengthens our sense of togetherness. New students in particular find in her a warm companion who guides them through the first weeks with a listening ear and great sensitivity.

Anyone who knows the two of them knows: here, a great deal of Stein spirit goes hand in hand with humour, warmth and true team-player energy.

Parent interview with Lars Nußbaum:

How did you first hear about Schule Schloss Stein?

“That’s an old story. After my Abitur in Bonn-Bad Godesberg, during my time in the Bundeswehr I joined the mountain infantry in Bad Reichenhall. From time to time, a friend from Bonn – also a mountain infantryman – and I would visit friends who were boarders at Stein. Mrs Ziegler welcomed us warmly every time and first invited the ‘poor hungry’ soldiers to a proper dinner. Even back then, I was very impressed by the open, friendly and family-like way people treated each other in Stein. When I then arranged an introductory appointment for Philippa, Sebastian Ziegler greeted me with the words: ‘Well, it’s been a long time since we last saw each other – it was about time…’ That was 37 years after my first visit!”

Why did you choose Stein?

“Philippa had major difficulties at her previous school, so we were looking for a new school. A Realschule and another Gymnasium were options. While considering this, I remembered the positive, family atmosphere in Stein. After a very pleasant introductory meeting and a three-day trial period, it was clear to Philippa that she would stay at Stein. Three days after the trial period, Philippa was a ‘Steinerin’.”

What is your favourite event in the Steiner calendar?

“After a year, we still haven’t quite decided. But the Advent market certainly delighted us.”

What do you value most about the afternoon supervision at Stein?

“After lessons and the shared lunch, the students are supervised while doing their homework; topics that were not fully understood in class can also be explained by the supervisors. In addition, the afternoon programme offers many opportunities to discover and try out new sports or interests that otherwise would never be pursued, and certainly not regularly.”

Sebastian Ziegler on Lisa & Philippa:

“Lisa and Philippa are the best example of how day students, or ‘semi-boarders’, as we affectionately call them here at Stein, can integrate into our community in the best possible way. Since the mid-1990s, the sense of community with day students has been gladly embraced by most through their deliberate inclusion in study periods and activities; as a result, you become not only a member of the class community, but fully part of Stein: with international contacts and friendships for life.”
