Stein proudly presents: Korbinian Kollmeier

October | 2026

Bringing history to life, instilling enthusiasm for Spain and motivating students for academic work – this is precisely what Korbinian Kollmeier stands for. Since 2023 the native from Chiemgau has been teaching History and Spanish at Schule Schloss Stein, bringing not only professional competence but also great passion and dedication to his role. That commitment pays off was demonstrated twice in the summer of 2026: three of his students were nominated for the Max-Fürst Youth Prize with their W-Seminar papers, one of whom won the award. Furthermore, his student Anna Kranzbühler García was honored with the Premio Escolar of the Bavarian Association of Spanish Teachers for her outstanding achievements and special commitment in Spanish.

Korbinian also brings his enthusiasm outside the classroom: as the leader of the Football Club he shares his passion for the sport and gets to know the Steiner students from a completely different perspective.

“Spanish thrives on language and encounter – and good teaching thrives on taking responsibility.”

“Korbinian Kollmeier has been teaching Spanish and History at Schule Schloss Stein since 2023. Spanish in particular is far more than just a subject for him: he lives the language and provides our students with not only sound language skills but also an authentic access to the country and its culture. Study trips to Spain and intensive preparation up to the Abitur are a matter of course for him.

What I particularly appreciate about Korbinian is his exceptional reliability. He takes on tasks independently, thoroughly familiarizes himself with new topics and conscientiously and punctually completes what has been agreed upon – without needing to be prompted.”

“Mr. Kollmeier was always committed and gladly advocated for the concerns of his students. I personally have wonderful memories with Mr. Kollmeier, such as the study trip to Galicia or Krakow. Thanks to Mr. Kollmeier’s varied teaching style, lessons always remained exciting. Thank you for this wonderful and educational time in Stein!”

“Whether it concerns history, his passion for Spanish, or our diverse football group – Mr. Kollmeier takes on his assigned responsibilities very seriously and approaches subjects and people with great wisdom and depth. And one senses this when he speaks about these matters, just as with the Steiner students who make serious progress under his guidance. From a profile perspective, one wishes for precisely such teacher-pedagogues because they connect both the functional aspect and the emotional aspect of our work.”“

“Korbinian? He was a great colleague from day one! It’s a pleasure to work with him, to exchange ideas with him, and of course – a personal note – to speak Spanish with him. The exchange with him is always informative and enriching. He is always open to suggestions, to new things, to ideas. That’s what makes collaboration truly enjoyable. He has a good rapport with the students, and what I find particularly great is that he is also involved as a football coach. Great person, great commitment.”

“Mr. Kollmeier is not only my Spanish teacher but also the leader of our Football Club.
When it comes to picking teams, Mr. Kollmeier is always among the first to be chosen. This is, of course, not only because the team he plays for does not have to wear bibs—which naturally smell wonderful—but primarily because he is a great enrichment to whichever team he is on. On the football pitch, he is a very strong player who constantly makes it difficult for us to get past him and score a goal. It is simply fun to play football with Mr. Kollmeier!
In the classroom, too, there is a relaxed atmosphere. We can laugh together and yet always learn something new. Mr. Kollmeier always ensures that everyone is doing well and that his lessons are adapted to the respective level of his students.
I believe we can all be very happy to have such a great teacher—regardless of whether he is standing on the pitch in football shoes or teaching at the front of the board with pen and paper.
