When it comes to the best events around our school, the Winter Ball is definitely right up there. Once again this year, it was a particularly enjoyable evening for the almost 150 guests.
The event began at 5 p.m. with the traditional champagne reception in the roll call room, where the first pleasant conversations were held and, above all, there was great joy at seeing each other again. Afterwards, Mr. Matyszok announced that everyone could take a seat and the meal would be served. This year’s menu included pumpkin soup, boiled beef with Steiner potato gratin and a delicious dessert buffet. During the meal, the conversation continued and so it is no wonder that the official ball in the assembly hall started a little later than planned.
But before we students could present what we had learned in the dance course over the last few months, there was a short dress rehearsal in the cowshed, which unfortunately did not go completely unnoticed. Finally, the time had come: everyone in the assembly hall was amazed at the successful decorations, everyone looked for their place and, with fresh flowers, we marched onto the dance floor at the start of the Munich Francaise. Thanks to the support of our dear dance teacher Nicki Mayer this went almost without a hitch.
With musical accompaniment from the band Nighthawk City all kinds of dances took place, during which the dance floor was always nicely filled and sometimes even the stage. Steiner and Altsteiner, pupils, parents, teachers, educators and many more danced to all kinds of good music, and photos were diligently taken until it was officially over at around one o’clock.
An eventful evening came to an end. Now all that remains is: Many thanks to Mr. Matyszok and all those who supported him with the organization. And to everyone who will be attending the Winter Ball in the coming years: You definitely have something to look forward to!
